Simple DIY ideas for clever kitchen solutions

Do your kitchen burst with devices, utensils and cookware in the seams? You’re not alone! Many of us have difficulty finding enough storage space in our kitchen, especially if we work with a smaller area. But don’t be afraid, colleagues and organizational enthusiasts! We have four simple DIY projects with which you can create more storage space in your kitchen without breaking the bank or requiring advanced carpentry. Let us immerse yourself and find out how you can transform your kitchen into an organized oasis!

1. Unleash the power of the vertical space: wall -mounted magnetic knife strips

A magnetic knife strip mounted on the wall is a player for every kitchen. There is not only valuable drawer and counter room, but also gives your cooking area a touch of professional cooking flair. This project is incredibly easy to do and requires minimal tools. All you need is a strong magnetic strip, some screws and a drill. Choose a convenient location on your kitchen wall and make sure that it is easily accessible, but not within reach of children.

As soon as you have installed your magnetic knife strip, you will be amazed at how much space you have saved in your drawers and your knife block. If you have exhibited your knives, you can record the right one in the middle of cooking. As an additional bonus, this storage solution can serve as a stylish decorative element in your kitchen. You can even use it to keep other metal utensils such as scissors or small spatula, which maximizes the benefit.

2. Maximize the cabinet room: DIY extract shelves for easy access

We were all there – into the depth of a lower cabinet and tried to find this difficult to grasp or the pan in the back. Extract shelves are the perfect solution for this kitchen skout. While you can buy pre -made leak shelves, creating your own is an inexpensive and customizable option. First measure the interior of your closet and buy suitable drawers, plywood and handles.

Cut the plywood to the size, attach the drawer slides to both the plywood and the interior of the cabinet and add a handle to the front edge of the shelf. Voila! You now have a leak in which access to your cookware becomes a breeze. This project not only increases the usability of your cupboards, but also helps you to track an overview of what you have and reduce the likelihood that double articles will be bought. Consider add different cupboards for a fully organized kitchen in several leak shelves.

3. Hugging open shelves: DIY swimming shelves for a spacious feeling

If your kitchen feels tight and closed, you should remove some upper cupboards and replace with floating shelves. This project not only creates a more open and airier feeling, but also offers the opportunity to display your favorite dishes, cookbooks or decorative items. To create floating shelves, you need robust wooden boards, hidden shelves and a drill.

Measure and mark where your shelves should go and make sure that you are level. Install the hidden brackets in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and push the wooden shelves onto the brackets. Sand and color or paint the shelves to meet the aesthetics of your kitchen. Open shelf encourages them to keep their articles organized and can feel a small kitchen much larger. It is also a great way to give your room personality and style and at the same time maintain the functional memory.

If you are not on the counter room, a foldable table can be a game changer. This project offers an additional work area if you need it and folds off properly if you are not used. To do this, you need a piece of robust wood for the table top, hinges and a holding system mounted on the wall. Cut the wood to your desired size and shape, grind it smoothly and end it to your kitchen decor.

Install the holding system on your wall and make sure that it is a level and is certainly anchored. Attach the hinges to your table top and to the bracket mounted on the wall. When the table is folded down, the table offers additional preparation room or even a cozy breakfast end. Simply fold it together against the wall. This versatile solution is perfect for small kitchens or for those that occasionally need additional counter room for large cooking projects.
