I am so excited about how my walk -in wardrobe comes together. I had to leave the house for about three hours yesterday, so I didn’t do as much as I hoped. But I did some painting and sealing more. And I have a complete, uninterrupted working day in front of me, so my goal is to paint all the cupboards on the right and then maybe even bring the wallpaper in the center cabinet department!
In the meantime, I thought about the rooms over the washing machine and the dryer. It is very normal for me not to have all the details of a project when I start a project. Usually the details work themselves when I start working. But at this point I am quite far in this project and still don’t have the details about what I want to do over the washing machine and the dryer.
I went through several ideas. You will remember that my original plan was to build on both cupboards. I showed this in this model some time ago.
But I excluded this quite early because the cabinets of the washing machine and the dryer protrude quite far, and since I was so short, I would have to have a fairly large ladder to be able to grab the washing and dryer cabinets and into all the cupboards that are up there.
Here is a picture of how big the washing and dryer cabinets are. I am only five feet big, so the worktops on these cupboards literally come into the upper part of my upper arm. (Please excuse my unbricked hair and my painted shirt. )
My range of this worktop is just ahead of the flatter cabinet cabinets.
If I really extend and grab as far as possible, my fingertips are still about 10 to 12 inches away from the rear wall.
My last plan, which I came up with a few weeks ago, consisted of laying a spotted frame in a strap -style stylus over the washing machine. I found some on Amazon, and the strap disc system is attached to the ceiling with something like a rope attached to a side wall with which I can lower and raise the drying frame. So that this is useful for me, it would have to be installed on the front of the washing cabinet instead of inserting the area next to the flatter shelf.
The more I think about it, the more I do not like this idea because (1) I would have to use the drying shelf of the strap, the rack would lower so low that it would practically sit on the washing machine worktop so that I would place things on it, and (2) You know how obsessed with the symmy -down -own-own -Own -own -unzhung -own -. Window, but it would only look ugly in front of this wallpapers. But from a practical point of view, I can’t really imagine that it is so useful for me that I am so short.
I thought about laying open shelves over the washing machine and the dryer, but I’m right again with the same problem. If I have to grab back and forth, I can only grab as far as the front of the shelf unit. So, everything I save on these shelves would either be things that I almost never use (in which case, why do you have them at all?) Or you would only be decorative.
I tell you to be just five feet big. I know that it sometimes represents its own problems (e.g. pants that find long enough), but I wish I could exchange my problems with the short girl for big girls’ problems.
So I somehow feel in planning this area. I thought the solution had presented itself at that time, but it didn’t do it. And if anyone doesn’t have a great idea for me, I think that I will only do a few pretty works of art to hang over the washing machine and dryer and leave it.
Or I could set up some very flat shelves that would only meet a decorative purpose, similar to the shelves that I have in the breakfast room.
And then I was able to add colorful works of art to these shelves. But I really don’t see that these areas are practical for me at all.
And I’m not really sad about being honest. This cabinet already has more storage space than I ever had in my whole life. And I still have to build an island that contains many drawers. I will have more storage space than I know what to do.
And as far as the hanging of clothing is concerned, I think that I have a lot of space in this section of the closet …
This section is pretty much my “overflow” section. The other two hanging sections have specific purposes. The middle is for shirts (a bar for short sleeves, a bar for long sleeves), and the section on the right is intended for pants and clothes.
And I deliberately put those for pants and clothes on the right, instead of having it on the left against the cabinet that flanked the door. So I was able to use the “overflow” section to hang wet clothes to dry. You will be directly out of the washing machine, so it’s not as if you are dripping wet.
However, unless someone has a brilliant idea of how I can use this room practically, I think I have laid down with the fact that it will only be a prudish space than a useful space.
Another detail that I want to train in my head is the background image. I mentioned above that I hope that the middle section of the cupboards will be wallpapered today or tomorrow at the end of the day. And now I’m wondering about the pattern. So here is my question.
The wallpaper has a very specific 27 -inch -vertical repetition. Does the pattern on the wallpaper in the cabinet area have to be perfectly (or as perfect as possible) with the wallpaper pattern on the back wall? If it hangs a little deeper in the cabinet area, so that the pattern is not perfectly aligned with the back wall, will the look? Will it look like a mistake?
It will make a difference how much wallpaper is required, and I have to find out whether I have enough background image if it has to be hung up at the same height in both areas so that the patterns are displayed exactly.
Should I also wallpaper the side of these cupboards so that the wallpaper looks more balanced if you look at these areas directly? Or should I just keep the wallpaper on the wall areas and paint the side of the closet and leave it? I think that would look one -sided.
* Sigh* These are the details that I am emphasized and obsessed. It always helps me to make these decisions when I can see examples that it is done in both directions, but so far I have not been able to find any examples that help me decide.
