The washing machine and the dryer are in !! (Acceptable closet progress)

She was like Christmas Day yesterday! I was seriously as anxious and excited as a child who was waiting to unpack gifts on Christmas morning. It was a long day, but at the end of the day the washing machine and the dryer were on the spot, and I let these puppies run continuously until I went to bed.

My friends should plan between 5:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. In the meantime, my mother and I had to move a few things out of the way to make a clear path between the winter garden and the closet so that the washing machine and the dryer could be easily stacked without all obstacles that had been stacked in this closet in the past few months in the past few months. I also had to end the trim and paint the inside of the washing and dryer cabinets.

I had already painted it for the most part, but I still wanted to install baseboards. I know that they will not show at all, but for my own peace of mind, I needed baseboards in place. So I installed them and then painted the same dark blue as the inside of the closet.

I didn’t even think about taking a picture of you as soon as they were all painted. I was too concentrated to make sure that everything was ready before I got here because I didn’t want to wait for me while I stormed around to end things and moved things. But I also had to resume the outlet covers, the cover for dryer ventilation and the covers for the connection areas. And then we had to clean up a lot of the stuff in the closet, sweep the soil and vacuum and let the island go aside to clear the way.

I know that some of them were concerned that there is not enough space for the washing machine and the dryer to get through, but there was a lot of space. Since the island has moved, there is space for about six feet.

I put my shop -Vac there and let Cooper lie down so that they could get an idea of the room. Cooper is a pretty big dog. It weighs about 100 pounds. So you can see that there is plenty of space if I ever have to get the washing machine and dryer out or work on it.

And although I had checked the dimensions of the washing machine and dryer about a hundred times on the website, measured the dimensions on my actual washing machine and my dryer and checked the dimensions of the cupboards that I built, I have to admit that the more I sweated the measurements, with the measuring balls.

But they fit perfectly! There is about a centimeter of space that I had planned. These devices do not require any releases on the sides and at the top. And I had drained the upper cladding of the cupboards until they were installed to make sure they fit.

I don’t think I was ever so excited that a plan comes together in my life. Only a Fyi, this light area on the washing machine is just sticky stuff from a label that was there. I have to go a little goose bumps or something to remove these residues there.

Here is a look at the final configuration with the washing machine and the dryer.

And I was also looking forward to whether my measurements with the doors had really come out. I wanted you to open all the way with just a small piece between you and the window goggle, and although I had measured it about a hundred times, I was so relieved that it had planned.

Almost immediately after completing my friends I installed the upper cladding and hoped to bring the worktops in place, but I was a bit distracted with … well …laundry.

I will wash the whole weekend over laundry to catch up. I no longer have working dryers since mid -December, so that, as you can imagine, I not only clothes, but also leaves, ceilings, towels and other things that are difficult to find space for dry if you have no clothes stones outdoors.

But oh my god, I was so excited that I went into the closet for fifty times all evening, just to look at the washing machine and the dryer, finally in her right place. And just see how good the blue looks with the wallpaper! That is exactly why I selected this special wallpaper. I wanted the blue washing machine and the dryer insert in the dark blue background of the wallpaper.

I also got the island in position because I wanted to see what the last arrangement looked like from the door of the closet.

They really mix in the wallpaper, that’s exactly what I was hoping for. I didn’t want the washing machine and the dryer to be things in the room that demanded attention.

And I was also very satisfied with the amount of space that is available in this laundry area. I think photos make it look smaller than it really is. If you are in the room, there is a lot of space back here! And it will be so comfortable to have this large island right there so that I can take laundry out of the dryer and put directly on the island to fold and put it away.

I told my mother that some people had commented on that due to the distance between them in this configuration it could be rather impractical if the washing machine and dryer are in this configuration and not side by side. She said, “Oh no! It will be great!” And then she showed how I can get a few lunge exercises while I took laundry out of the washing machine and put in the dryer. I should have brought that to video. You would have got a kick from it. But they are really not far apart. In fact, in this configuration I don’t have to take any more steps between them than on the side. So it is a very comfortable arrangement.

And here is a memory of what my old “washroom” looked like. It was a corner of the “winter garden” – the room that I can tear off in the near future …

So that feels like a massive upgrade. I’ve waited for so long !!!

Anyway, I will spend my weekend here! I will work on the island and washing machine/dryer worktop and get involved in laundry. I don’t think I was ever so excited to wash laundry in my whole life. And a big cry of my friends and their two teenagers who did this for me! I am so blessed to have friends who are always ready to help when I need it.
