Walk -in cabinet color color ideas

I didn’t come to my cabinet project last weekend, as I hoped for it. The weather became rainy and cold, and I didn’t want to stand out in the cold while I cut the fringe. But I did a lot of primer and also selected six different blue colors to test the cupboards. Before this project even started, I let my heart put on a pink closet, but the more I looked at with walk-in color color ideas, the more excited the idea of a light blue (or light blue-green) closet.

Five of these colors are new. I’ve never tested them before. The reason why I went with new colors is that the previous colors that I tested just didn’t look right for me. I had previously tested Behr Clear Vista and Behr Tahoe Blue (which you can see here), but when I looked again against the wallpaper in natural light, they didn’t seem to work at all. I had previously tested three Sherwin Williams colors – Annabelle, Matt on Monday and Soft Shore (which you can see here). But I selected those when I planned to use tiles on the walls to use the washing and dryer area. And now that I do not plan to use this tile, these colors didn’t really seem to work.

So back to the drawing board I went. I selected five new colors and tested them on the actual closet.

From top down these are: (1) Behr Drip, (2) PPG Malt Sonata, (3) Behr Air Blue, (4) PPG paints the dream of the midsummer, (5) ppg malt blue bows and (6) Sherwin Williams Matt on Monday. I tested the matt again on Monday, although I was pretty sure that it wouldn’t work just because I love the name and hoped that it might work.

Since I no longer try to get these blue tiles up and running in the room, I decided to adhere to colors that were not so gray and were more into a clearer blue -green.

Selecting a blue color can be difficult, because the last thing I want is that my wardrobe can read “Baby’s Room”. And some of these blues in the wallpaper could look very easy for a child if they are used on all cupboards.

I also have to consider that I try to bridge the dark blue wallpaper and devices in the closet with the dark, blue -grassless wallpaper, which will be predominant in the foyer outside of the closet and in our bedroom. All of these areas will be clearly visible at the same time. Although they do not have to match, they have to coordinate well and play well. So I rolled up the grass wallpaper and drasted them on the other closet to see how all these colors work together.

I took most of these pictures last night after it was dark outside so that no natural light comes in through the window. And since I still have the individual light on the ceiling fan in this room, I brought additional light with me. The room will have more light when it is finished. I will add at least five recessed lights to the room and replace the ceiling fan for a chandelier and add two lights to the tape section.

I took this photo this morning after the sun appeared. So this is a true representation of these colors, with both the natural light through the window and the additional light in the room.

Unfortunately, I immediately ruled out Matt on Monday, the color at the bottom. It is far too gray for the wallpaper. And I excluded blue arches, the color right over it because it reads purple. I immediately excluded the first color, drip because I think it’s just too much color. I think I also have to rule out the dream of the midsummer because it seems too green for the wallpaper. This leaves these two colors – PPG paints Sonata upstairs and Behr Air Blue below.

Of these two I really like Air Blue, the lighter of the two. It seems better to go with the wallpaper and I like it that it is easier. I think the lighter color will not be the star, instead of trying to compete with the wallpaper for attention.

Based on these marketing pictures, I definitely like the Behr Air Blue better. In my opinion, the PPG -Sonata really pushes blue on the edge of the room of this child. And the air blue seems to have more green in it, which I find preferable, especially when you consider that this color has to coordinate with my blue -colored wallpaper.

So that’s the direction I am rising. Behr Air Blue seems to be my choice. But I will continue to prepare the rest of the cupboards today, and I will keep an eye on these colors to see what they look like with the wallpaper in different times. But at that moment my money is on Behr Air Blue. Do you agree? Which would you choose?
